If you're were a boy in the USA in the 1970's, chances are you owned an Evel Knievel Stunt Cycle set.

If you were really cool (like my brother) you had the Super Jet Cycle. You could put flint in the rocket tubes, and sparks would shoot out when the bike was running! These were real sparks. No fake lights and AA battery. This was the 1970's, before the era of the lawsuit, when folks took responsibility for their actions (and stupidity), they didn't try to pawn it off on someone else.

I had the Stunt Chopper set. It was SO COOL! Wish I still had it, but I don't think I do. We used to make ramps and see how far we could jump 'em.

They don't make toys like that anymore. Too bad. And if you're not familiar at all with any of this ... well, check this out.

Anyway, catch up with Evel. Seems like he's paying the price for what he put his body through. I can still see the slo-mo highlights of his Ceasar's Palace jump ... ouch!
