Happy Launch Day! Today was the start of freshwater trials. As I'm not that experienced of a kayaker, it seems prudent to play around on some local lakes getting used to the boat and developing my skills a bit. So, at around 6:30 AM, I packed the boat on the subie and went to Lake Padden (which is pretty close to my house). |

Here's the shot of the day. Note I still need to do something about grab-loops; I just tied some old rope in there for the time being as I needed something to tie to in order to secure the boat on the roof rack. I paddled for, say, 30-45 minutes. And I stayed dry -- no leaks, apparently. I checked the hatches upon returning home, and they seem dry too. Woo Hoo! |

Here's the boat on the subie, ready to go back home. You'll note a seat in the boat. That's basically just a pad. It's duct-taped in until I carve a real seat. |
