a hodge-podge of mish-mash … can you dig it?

Today, leap day 2004, is the day that the two halves became one boat. Well, they're taped together, anyway.

Here's the same shot from a little different angle.

From the back. You know, I used five rolls of strapping tape (the wide stuff). Each container had 30 feet of tape. You do the math.

This is my favorite shot, except for that little twig of a branch that snuck in.

Inside shot. This is from the hatch in the back, looking forward. You can see the cockpit hole, followed by the forward hatch.

And from the cockpit looking backward.

That's a thing of beauty, isn't it?

While most of the seams -- with much effort (taping took about three hours) -- lined up well, this is one place (near the bow) that didn't. There's about 1/16th of an inch (or less) there. I'm hoping I can do the inside and get it in shape, then sand the outside a bit to lessen that lip and make it all smooth. Then 'glass the outside. If I'm lucky, I'll start glassing the inside seam later this week or Saturday. Sorry, pictures will probably be few and far between as I won't stop to take pictures along the way.
