So, the first step was to sand down the resin schmutz a bit, to make it more level and thus allow it to better receive the fiberglass I needed to lay on top of it.

Here's a closer look at a single stud.

And here are the studs with fiberglass on them. Note the masking tape. I use that to prevent the edges from fraying. It will be cut off later (after some curing time, but before the stuff has completely cured).

And here's a close up of what it looks like with the taped edges cut off. I probably waited five hours to cut the taped edges off.
