I only had a few minutes, but it was enough to remove the clamps and chop off the excess wood. Here's a shot of the left side of the front of the cockpit.

And the whole cockpit, from the front. The next step is to trim down the lip into one even surface, sand/plane it to a smooth, rounded curve, then pop some 'glass over the top of it.
