a hodge-podge of mish-mash … can you dig it?

Time to finish the coaming lip. This photo was actually taken the previous day. You can see how the coaming looks from the side.

The coaming on the back of the cockpit.

And the front. This would have been so much better if I just would have had another six clamps.

But I didn't have those clamps, so I need to cover a longer bend around that sharp nose. This means I need to bend some wood. I've got very small creek running through the back of my property, so I just went back there and dumped a number of strips in the creek to soak them thoroughly. Once wet, they wrapped around that sharp bend like a dream. So, I clamped them and let the wood dry. Once it was dry, the bend was permanent. I let the wood dry (clamped like this) for around 24 hours.

After the wood was dry, I used resin as glue much like I did with the rest of the coaming. In this picture, the strips are epoxied. Thirteen clamps to do that small spot proved to be enough.

Here you can see where the strips meet. I cut the line as close as possible, then sanded it smooth. Then epoxy, and then the strips.

Same, from the top.

And a shot from the bottom looking up. No, this doesn't show anything important, I just did it because I could.
