a hodge-podge of mish-mash … can you dig it?

We're getting closer to the great day of fiberglassing. Here you can see I've got both the hull and the deck, next to each other. I'm in the process of sanding the insides of them. Right now, I'm focusing on the deck.

Another picture of the same thing.

This time just the hull. I'm working on sanding down the high spots. I'll be filling the low spots and gaps later on. I plan on using a water-based filler (wood putty) based on the recommendation of another kayak builder (Rob Macks, Laughing Loon Kayaks)

And once again, the hull. That little thing in the middle is half of an old foam roller. The round shape and somewhat hard cardboard made for a decent sanding tool. I just wrapped some 60-grit paper around it, and sanded like a madman. It worked fairly well. If you're interested, a QuickTime movie (watch out, it's 10 megs) of me sanding is available here.
