Now that the glass on the deck is fully cured, I'm going to start to patch the bubbles around the cockpit. Here's an example of a rather ugly one. I've already begun sanding around the area of the bubble.

There are three spots to patch in this area. You can tell that the fillet area was particularly troublesome.

This is the same area as above, only from a different angle.

And this is fairly much the same area, only you can see a few more trouble spots. The basic strategy here is to cut patches of fiberglass cloth about the size of the holes in question, and then use those plus some resin to patch the area. I'm thinking about doing a one-two punch here. That is, I'm considering patching the trouble areas, then adding another epoxy-resin layer around the vertical part of the coaming (maybe two layers). Then when that's just begun to cure, glue on the coaming lip itself. Then clamp it all up, move it off to the side, and start sanding the inner portion of the hull. At least, that's my plan for now. It could very easily change.
