After the sealer coat, I decided to use a "fillet" to ease the transition between the cockpit recess and the coaming. This is pretty much like caulking the crack, only using a epoxy schmutz mix of stuff to compose the compound. I used a mixture of sawdust, silica, and microballoons for this. You can see it in the joint in this photo. |

From the side as well. With this one, you can see some of the leftover schmutz above and below the fillet. I'm unsure how to go about cleaning this up. I think I need to let the epoxy cure and then sand it. Ugh. |
